Have you ever wondered who the inventor of the piano was? The piano is such a popular instrument now, but have you ever stopped to think about who had the idea of creating it?

Believe it or not, at one time if you wanted to play a keyboard instrument your choices were the harpsichord or the organ. While these instruments are great, they also have some drawbacks. The main one is this – no matter how hard or soft you press the keys, they don’t play any louder or softer.

Have Your Piano Tuned Regularly!

Last month I had my piano tuned and vacuumed out – I admit it was overdue for a tuning and as a piano teacher… well, it’s kind of like the story of the doctor who is a bad patient!

Pianos are very sensitive instruments with lots of parts (upwards of about 14,000 parts). All of these parts come together to make the piano sound good when played by a skilled or budding pianist.
